Shitala

In rural India, Shitala is considered to be the incarnation of the goddess Parvati and Durga, who are two forms of Shakti. In Tamil Nadu, she is revered as Maryamman. Shitala is undoubtedly one of the most popular rural deities and her origins can be traced back to the time of nature worship.

Shitali
Shitali is pranayama, also known as cooling breathing. It is believed that it cools the body, mind, and emotions. Shitali comes from the Sanskrit root श्य or श्या which means "to cool", "to freeze", "to congeal". Siddha-siddhanta paddhati Siddha-siddhanta paddhati

It is a philosophic treatise which contains a description of metaphysical ideas and the way of thinking of Natha-sampradaya and also the highest ideal of yogis in this tradition. The majority of nathas and scientists consider guru Gorakshanath to be the author of the text, however, there is an opinion that it was written by Yogi Nityanath (well-known yogi-alchemist). Some respected yogis think that Nityanath is the name of Gorakshanath.
