Abhinivesha
Abhinivesha
अभिनिवेश, abhiniveśa
Will to possess or strong desire to retain something; manifestation of attachment to life and the fear of death. In fact, this term can mean any kind of fear. Composed of two kleshas: attraction and aversion (ragadvesha).
Raga leads to the fear of losing what we want to retain or the fear not to get what we aspire to. Dvesha leads to the fear of getting what we do not like (for example, illness) or fear associated with the inability to get rid of something (for example, again, the disease). The fundamental fear is, of course, the fear of death.
Abhinivesha is a strong desire for life, which is present even among sages.
