Rahasya

Rahasya

रहस्य, rahasya

Literally translates as "mystery", "covert", "hidden". Synonyms – guhya, gupta. In sacred Indian texts, it usually indicates the innermost essence of the teaching, mystical knowledge.

In a sense, there is no mystery that cannot be revealed. It is only due to ignorance (avidya) and lack of wisdom that a person is unable to know his true nature. Thanks to the grace of the true Teacher, darkness of ignorance dispelles and sacred knowledge is revealed in the disciple’s heart.

This mystery (rahasya) of the Siddhas tradition, which is difficult to obtain, has now been revealed. This became possible only by Guru's compassion. What else do you want to hear?

"Matsiendra-samhita" (40.69)

Some authoritative texts of Hinduism contain the word "rahasya" in their own names — "Tripura-rahasya", "Shiva-rahasya-purana", "Shri Natha-rahasya", "Shri Goraksha-rahasya", "Varivasya-rahasya" and others.

Shri Parvati said:

O, God of Gods, tell me Goraksha-rahasyam, the secret knowledge of worshipping blessed Gorakshanath. (1)

Shiva replied:

Listen, O Devi, I will reveal to You the secret knowledge about Gorakshanath. This great mystery knowledge is hidden more than others and it also bestows siddhis. (2)
All means of worshiping Guru Gorakshanath are incapable to bring the desired results, without the methods of dhyana yoga. (3)
Whoever intends to achieve results without practicing meditation will not succeed in hundreds of years. (4)

"Shri Goraksha-rahasya"
