Rita

Rita ऋत, ṛta

Rita is an ancient term that has been widely used since the Rigveda. This is a concept that denotes the highest reality, a single universal order that regulates processes and maintains balance and harmony at all levels: in all lokas, on Earth, in nature, in human society. Rita is close in the meaning to dharma.

The fifth of the 11 Rudras listed in the Mahabharata is also named Rita.

"The term comes from the root ऋ, ṛ — "move, reach", that is the world law by which everyone lives. The concept of dharma, the principle that sustains the entire world order, is directly related to rita. And thus, rita indicates a certain movement, i.e. karma, actions that must be consistent with the given world order. And then karma will be perfect and the world will not be destroying you."

                                                                                         Guru Yogi Matsyendranath Maharaj

Directly connected with "rita" (ऋत, ṛta) are the Indian seasons of the year "ritu" (ऋतु, ṛtu), that reflect the idea of natural order in nature and the harmonious change of the seasons of the year.

The opposite of ṛta is निरृति, nirṛti – disorder, chaos, destruction due to lack of coherence. Nirriti corresponds to the southwestern direction, where Rakshasas live, striving to act opposite to dharma and rita.
