"Self-born lingam", bana-lingam

Natural shivalingam. Usually in the form of an elliptical stone. It is located (mostly) in the bed of the Narmada River.

The performance of Shiva-puja to the svayambhu-lingam is no different from the ritual of worshiping Shiva in the form of a man-made lingam.
