Udana-vayu

One of the main vayu in the human body.

Governs the process of inhalation and exhalation, mainly centered in vishudha area and in the area of thyroid. Activates the upper part of the spine, also actively circulates in the brain and chest. A person activates udana-vayu while inhaling and making sounds. Thus udana is responsible for speech and mimics. Udana-vayu is also engaged in the sensation of food taste.

Udana-vayu is connected with deep pshychic functions of the interaction between mind and intellect. It plays the important role in the functioning of a person's memory.
