Viparita-karani
Viparita-karani
One of the yogic mudras giving siddhi. Performed in an inverted position. The word "viparita" means "back, vice versa". In this position, the body of the sun and the moon change places, that is, the solar sphere (the lower abdomen) is at the top, and the lunar sphere (the head region) is at the bottom. The inverse of the usual state arises. Due to such a change in the position, prana and apana start flowing in the opposite direction and meet in the area of manipura.
A list of the main mudras can be found here.
