Dharmashastra

Ancient Indian texts outlining religious rules of conduct, as well as ancient laws. They consist of 18 books. Each book corresponds to a certain time epoch.

The most famous Dharmashastras are: "Manu-smriti", "Narada-smriti" and "Yajnavalkya-smriti".

Dhumavati
A tantric goddess who is a part of the group of ten Mahavidyas (Dasha-mahavidya). The name Dhumavati can be translated as "she who is woven of smoke." The word dhūma means “smoke”, and the word vatī means “carrier”. As the embodiment of Mahamaya’s great power, this goddess symbolizes abandonment, destruction, when everything "burns down" and only ashes and smoke remain. She is often associated with the goddesses Alakshmi ("Unfavorable") and Jyeshtha ("Elder", "Superior").  → Подробнее...
Dhuni Dhuni

The sacred yogis’ fireplace. There is a dhuni in every Natha temple. Dhuni serves as a place to conduct homa, prepare rota for Gorakshanatha puja, get overnight accommodation for sadhus next to it. A chimta and a trishul are usually installed in dhuni.
