Jada-samadhi

Jada-samadhi

जड-समाधि, jaḍa-samādhi

Translated from Sanskrit jaḍa means meaningless, empty, motionless, appathy; and samādhi is a state similar to deep sleep.

In this state, supersensible divine knowledge is not revealed to the yogi. Breathing stops completely. Prana is fixed somewhere in the muladhara-chakra. In this state, a person does not feel pain. But mental impressions and desires are not burned. Jada-samadhi does not give liberation. A person can enter jada-samadhi without any moral perfection.
