दर्शन, darśana

beholding, a vision of God, a statue of a Deity in a temple, a spiritual Teacher or a saint,
from the Sanskrit root dṛś, meaning "to behold" or "fleeting vision".

Obtaining the darshan of a saint, a murti or Guru, is the main goal of a Hindu visiting a temple or performing a pilgrimage.

The spiritual meaning of this word is "to perceive reality", "to receive inner illumination", "to see clearly".
