Salayatana

Salayatana (Pali "six spheres") – in Buddhism, the entire sensory experience is described as a union of the six senses and their six spheres.

The eye and the objects of the eye give birth to vision. The ear and its objects are hearing. The nose and its objects are the senses of smell. Language and its objects are the sense of taste. The body and its objects are touch. The mind and its objects are concepts of the mind, generating thinking, reflection.
