Agastya

Agastya is the famous Vedic rishis and saint, mentioned in Rig Veda as the creator of a number of hymns. Especially revered in the south of India (under the name Agattiara) as one of the 18 glorified Shivaite saints.

According to legend, he came to the south from Northern India to preach the Dravidas to the teachings of the Vedas. He is considered to be the creator of the grammar of Tamil language.
