Anushthana

(Sanskrit anuśṭhana - execution) practice of religious discipline, rejection of excesses. It is the observance of certain rules for the sake of achieving the desired goal. Such discipline forms a person, makes him or her integral and able to realize higher goals. Anushtana, as internal preparation, often runs a certain period (for example 21 days, 40 days or more) after receiving various initiations.
