Atirudra
Atirudra
अतिरुद्र, atirudra
Ati as a prefix to a noun means "above", or "beyond"; Rudra – the angry hypostasis of Shiva, translated as "roaring", "terrifying". Atirudra is one of the names of Shiva, meaning "the highest Rudra."
In some schools of Hinduism, it is customary to conduct an annual ritual – Ati Rudra Maha Yajna, which is one of the ancient and powerful forms of worship of Lord Shiva. The ceremony is performed continuously for 11 days in order to cleanse the situation in the world, laying the prerequisites for the establishment of peace, harmony, prosperity in society or in the family.
